There are times where you question the need of a lawyer. Although you may not think you need to enroll our services, there are times when it is absolutely necessary and in your best interest. For instance, if you are involved in an accident where there is significant damage to persons or property, when your family status is about to change and especially when you have tax questions, among other reasons.
We have a saying in our profession: A lawyer who represents himself or herself has a fool for a client. Even lawyers turn to other lawyers for help with their own legal matters. I advise you to contact an attorney immediately for any of the situations listed above.
This is an excerpt from this week’s weVENTURE FLORIDA TODAY EDGE column authored by lawyer and Florida Supreme Court Certified Mediator Cindy O. Bishop. If you’d like to learn more about the best times to call in a lawyer, read my column in this week’s FLORIDA TODAY Business Section.
